Eisenhour Cemetery

Directions
North (Northwest) on St. Rt. 20
Turn West on St. Rt. 600 through Gibsonburg.
Cross Fostoria Road (US Rt. 23) where Rt. 600 turns into Gibsonburg Road.
Cemetery is on the Northeast corner of Bradner and Gibsonburg Roads.
West on St. Rt. 6 to Bradner Road. Turn North (Right)
For Spring Cleanup, all arrangements including wreaths, blankets, etc. MUST be removed by March 15th. NO new arrangements may be placed before April 1st.
Fish Cemetery

Directions
Option #1
Head North (Northwest) on St. Rt. 20 and turn West on St. Rt. 600 through Gibsonburg.
Turn North on US Rt. 23 (Fostoria Road).
Approx. 3 miles and turn West (left) on St. Rt. 105.
Head southwest on OH-105 W/E Front St toward Bierley Ave/Pemberville Rd
Continue to follow OH-105 W through Pemberville approx.. 2.0 mi.
Turn left onto Kohring Rd 0.3 mi.
Turn right onto Alexander Rd 0.2 mi.
Turn left onto Fish Rd. 1.0 mi
Turn right onto Swan Rd. 0.4 mi
Turn left onto Zepernick Rd 1.0 mi
Fish Cemetery is on right

Head West on St. Rt. 6
Continue on Rt. 6 past US Rt. 23 (Fostoria Rd.)
Continue past St. Rt. 199 going South only across the river. (Toward Bowling Green)
The first crossroad as you come around the curve is St. Rt. 199 North.
Turn right and immediately take another right onto North River Road.
Take Northriver Rd. to Zepernick road which only goes North (left).

Pemberville Cemetery

Directions
Directions are from Fremont.
Head North (Northwest) on St. Rt. 20 and turn West on St. Rt. 600 through Gibsonburg. Turn North on US Rt. 23 (Fostoria Road). Approx. 3 miles and turn West (left) on St. Rt. 105.
Head southwest on OH-105 W/E Front St toward Bierley Ave/Pemberville Rd

RULES, REGULATIONS and RESTRICTIONS
(Revised 1/1/2024)
These rules, regulations and restrictions shall supersede all former rules, regulations and restrictions and shall become effective as amended and be in full effect on and after January 1, 2022.
LOTS
-
Residents and Non-Residents of Freedom Township shall be eligible to purchase burial places in these cemeteries and shall be furnished a copy of these rules, regulations and restrictions when all accounts are paid in full.

The sales of lots or burial places shall be in the charge of the Freedom Township Trustees or any person designated by them to conduct such sales.

The minimum charge of graves used shall be paid upon burial and the balance of lot to be paid within Sixty (60)- days, subject to Ohio Revised Code §517.07.

All money is to be paid to the Fiscal Officer, or other person designated by the Freedom Township Trustees.
-
A proper receipt shall be issued by the Fiscal Officer or other person designated for all money paid.
GRAVE PRICES
-
RESIDENTS OF FREEDOM TOWNSHIP purchasers …. $250.00
-
NON-RESIDENTS OF FREEDOM TOWNSHIP purchasers … $600.00
-
NON-RESIDENTS owning real estate in FREEDOM TOWNSHIP having a TAX VALUATION of at least $5,000.00 shall be considered a resident purchaser under rule 7.
-
A RESIDENT PARENT or CHILD may purchase graves for a NON-RESIDENT PARENT or CHILD at the RESIDENT price under rule 7.
-
No more than 8 graves may be purchased by 1 household unless approved by the FREEDOM TOWNSHIP TRUSTEES.

The repurchase of lots by the Trustees from the owner of a deed shall be at the original price.
DEEDS
-
The Freedom Township Trustees shall issue and deliver a Deed to the purchaser of a burial plot when all accounts are paid in full.
-
All accounts must be paid in full within Sixty (60) days of purchase date. Burial plot(s) not paid in full within Sixty (60) days will remain as property of the Freedom Township Trustees; and, at the next regular meeting of the Freedom Township Trustees, after Sixty (60) days of purchase date, said plot(s) will be offered to the public for resale, without Page 2 of 4 any further notice given to purchaser. The resale of plot(s) shall be at the discretion and by vote of the Trustees.

Joint Deeds will be issued only at the discretion of the Trustees.

A transfer of a Deed by a resident to a non-resident shall be by payment of $300.00 per grave.
-
A transfer of a Deed by a resident to a non-resident child or parent shall be by payment of $10.00 per grave.

A charge of $10.00 per grave will be made for all transfers, issuance, and recording of the new Deed (also any duplicate issued). All transfers are at the discretion of the Freedom Township Trustees.
BURIALS
The Freedom Township Trustees or other persons designated them, shall be notified of every prospective burial at least Forty-eight (48) hours before internment is made; otherwise, they will not be held responsible for delays. The following charges shall be made for digging graves, and must be paid prior to burial to any person so designated by the Trustees:

$1,000.00 plus any additional cost beyond the normal digging.

No more than Two (2) Cremation Burials per grave or One (1) Burial and One (1) Cremation per grave.
The burial of a non-resident family member on a plot owned by a resident shall be permitted without additional charge.
Burial in Potter’s Field is to be made according to the laws governing the State of Ohio for such burials
Vaults/Cremations

No air-sealed burial vaults are permitted in the cemetery.

No air dome vaults are permitted for any burials.
Foundations
-
Foundations for all memorials shall be placed by Freedom Township Employees ONLY.
-
All foundation shall have a Four (4) inch border around the base of the monument. The final calculation for the cost of a foundation is: Monument Base + 8 inches x $5.00 per running inch = Foundation Charge.

Foundations for all memorials shall be placed only under the supervision of the Freedom Township Trustees or person designated by them, and in no case shall the foundations be less than Two (2) feet thick, of proper concrete construction with Four (4) feet supporting pillar or pillars of concrete, attached to and made part of the base, with a Four (4) inch border around the foundation.

No foundation shall be placed until Six (6) months after burial and graves have paid in full.

No foundation shall be placed from November 7 – April 7, or at the discretion of the Freedom Township Trustees or person designated by them.
RULES & REGULATIONS

The Freedom Township Trustees shall be permitted to cause every grave to be leveled and filled to correspond to the general surface of the cemetery.

For SPRING CLEANUP, all arrangements including wreaths, blankets, etc. MUST be removed by March 15th. NO new arrangements may be placed before April 1st .

Flower beds, individual plants, etc. may be placed at the front of the lot, and in no case further back than Two (2) feet from the lot line.

The use of glass containers, loose stone, or fences is not permitted on graves.

The planting of trees, shrubbery, bushes or roses in the cemetery is not permitted. All tombstones, markers, headstones or any other permanent fixture shall be placed only under the supervision of the Freedom Township Trustees or person designated by them at a cost determined by size.

Any tree, shrub, bush, plant or any other article that may be a detriment to the general appearance or general maintenance of the cemetery may be trimmed or removed by the Freedom Township Trustees, or at their discretion.

The Cemetery will take all reasonable precautions to protect lot owners and the property right of lot owners within the cemetery from loss or damage; but the cemetery distinctly disclaims all responsibility for loss or damage from causes beyond its reasonable control, and especially from damage caused by the elements, and act of God, common enemy, thieves, vandals, strikers, malicious mischief makers, explosion, unavoidable accidents, invasions, insurrections, riots or order of any military or civil authority, whether the damage be direct or collateral, other than herein provided
BYLAWS

The speed of any vehicle is not to exceed 10 miles per hour.

Parking is permitted only on driveways. Care should be employed in parking.

Any person injuring or disturbing the shrubbery, plants, flowers or defacing or damaging memorials or other articles that are a part of the cemetery will be in violation of the bylaws of the Freedom Township Trustees’ Rules & Regulations.

The cemetery shall be open to visitors and plot owners from one-half hour prior to sunrise until one-half hour after sunset, unless in the judgment of the Trustees a necessity arises to close the gates. After hour visitation is not permitted unless approved by the Freedom Township Trustees.

No pets are allowed to run loose in the cemetery
Violators shall be prosecuted to the full extent of the law
